Duke Nukem 3D - Launcher (DL2 v1.0) for MAP files by Greg & Lesa Moyer

Purpose

  This program maintains an alphabetic database of all your MAP files.  The
  purpose is to provide a better launching interface then what is found in
  the setup program.  This is only for DukeMatch and Single player mode.  I
  did not intend to replace the setup program, only to provide a better
  launching interface.  I would still like to have the ability to start a new
  MAP while still connected over the modem!

  -alphabetic MAP listing
  -date, time, duration of last play
  -one line comment for each MAP
  -view the associated .TXT file (using external program)
  -add/delete MAPs on the fly
  -stores all MAPs and associated .TXT files in a Zipped file

Files

  -DL2.EXE - main executable
  -DL2.DBF - MAP database, created if missing
  -DL2.TXT - your reading it

Installation

  -copy DL2.EXE into same directory as DUKE3D.EXE
  -make backup copies of DUKE3D.CFG, and COMMIT.DAT
  -place all MAPs, and associated .TXT files into same directory as
   DL2.EXE (don't worry, they will all be deleted and zipped up into
   a single file called DL2MAPS.ZIP)
  -ensure PkZIP, PkUNZIP, and LIST are in path (if you don't have list,
   make a batch file call list.bat and call your own text viewer)

Miscellaneous

  -if the DL2.DBF file gets corrupted, unzip all files in DL2MAPS.ZIP,
   delete DL2.DBF, and <INS> all MAPs again from within DL2.EXE
